The Pillbox Man

Rex Hellyer - an aspiring poet and novelist - leaves home to start a new life. He seeks to find the inspiration to write by living in a Second World War pillbox overlooking an Essex village. He is helped at first in this venture by the landowner's daughter, Alice. Then the villagers become suspicious of him and his new life turns to disaster.

This is a compelling story of hope mingled with despair - a black comedy where humour and tragedy mix in equal measures.
