Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) was a French writer, who was considered the one who developed the genre of aclassical French fairy-tale. Her most popular fairy-tales were: 'The Story Of Pretty Goldilocks', 'The Blue Bird' and 'The Imp Prince'.


Once upon a time there lived a king with his queen. Unfortunately they lost all their children but were waiting for one more girl to be born. They wanted to cherish her and tried to hire a nurse for her, but every woman they hired was instantly killed. The king found out that this was a doing of an evil fairy, someone he'd played a prank on in his childhood.
