Deeds not words. To the members of Canada's Joint Task Force Two, it isn't just a motto. It's a way of life.

Most Canadians have never heard of them, but when a Canadian veteran and a British intelligence officer vanish in Belize, it's JTF2 that answers the call.

Sergeant Sebastien "Rocky" Ray, reeling from the disappearance of his friend and commander, must lead Alpha Team for the first time. The objective is clear: rescue the hostages and eliminate their captor. But the enemy is no ordinary zealot. He is part of a larger design, an architect of upheaval intent on reshaping entire societies.

What begins as a hostage rescue spirals into the opening shots of a Quiet War no one realizes has begun. As loyalty collides with duty and a shadowy adversary maneuvers unseen, Rocky must decide whether to cling to the past or embrace the role that could define his future—and the fate of his nation.

This gripping military, espionage, and political thriller written by Canadian veteran and former intelligence officer Michael J. Lalonde launches The Quiet War: Canadian Front, the debut novel in a bold new series that places Canada and its allies at the centre of a global conflict.

With its tactical realism, global scope, and emotionally grounded characters, it's perfect for fans of Tom Clancy, Jack Carr, and military political thrillers rooted in today's world.

Very good read

Starts slow, but soon you don’t want to put it down. Then you reach the end and wish you had the next book in the series.

The Quiet War

A great debut for Michael J. Lalonde. I was captivated throughout the book not wanting to put it down from virtual cover to cover. It is uplifting to read more about our Canadian military, especially JTF2. It makes me proud. Cannot wait for the sequel.

The Quiet War

I very much enjoyed the book. Couple of feedback points. During the story you had one part I thought was a bit over done when talking about equipment carried, for example the C8 and all its add ons. The story jump too quickly for me from the time you introduced the Brit soldiers to them agreeing to risk their lives for this cause. Otherwise I really enjoyed the story plot and various characters so I’m hooked and will read the series through…. No pressure but it has such great potential and I’m excited to read the rest… keep them coming.
