Teaching a child to love, appreciate and be happy with what she or he has is the best thing ever. princess is generally associated with negative personality characteristics of being high maintenance, precious, entitled and spoiled. It's almost never seen as a compliment. Calling a child princess does not refers to worldly goods but just a consideration.
