Publisher Description

Contrary to common perception, zombies are not undead, rotting monsters. In fact, there are only two ways in which ordinary people differ from zombies: First, zombies experience greatly magnified pleasure which accounts for their quintessential persistence. The second difference is dietary: Zombies eat brains. These brains temporarily relieve a zombie's symptoms, rendering him completely normal.

The Replacement Zombie is the story of a young zombie named Charlie Dukes who is torn between the immense pleasure of being a zombie and the paralyzing loneliness that his obsessions produce. After he meets a frustrated, introverted girl and schedules a job interview with a surprisingly well-informed stranger, Charlie finds himself kidnapped and imprisoned by a demented scientist intent on curing his condition --- a cure that Charlie does not want. When the mysterious stranger intervenes, Charlie finds himself facing the most dangerous job interview of his life.
