Publisher Description
This is the wise, unsettling, drastic story of three women whose lives share a common wound: Zenia, a woman they first met as university students in the sixties. Zenia is smart and beautiful, by turns manipulative, vulnerable – and irresistible. She has entered into their separate lives to ensnare their sympathy, betray their trust, and exploit their weaknesses. Now Zenia, thought dead, has suddenly reappeared. In this richly layered narrative, Atwood skilfully evokes the decades of the past as she retraces three women’s lives, until we are back in the present – where it’s yet to be discovered whether Zenia’s “pure, free-wheeling malevolence” can still wreak havoc. The Robber Bride reports from the farthest reaches of the sex wars and is one of Margaret Atwood’s most intricate and subversive novels yet.

Customer Reviews
Loved it & Hated it.
I'm not trying to be a hater or one of those people that don't like a certain type of genre yet decide to browse around it just to highlight the negativity, right?
The plot caught my attention instantly and I really did get involved and Interested in all 3 main characters ( Roz,Tony and Charis ) However considering that all three of them revolved around the major bit** Zenia, it would have been nice of the author to include her life in the book as she did for all three lf them, not just a glimpse of her maliciousness.
I know and understand that authors need to be descriptive most of the times but sometimes they can over do it with small things. In this case, I found it that certain things dragged on forever, certain descriptions especially with Tony's life and her war fascinations and thoughts, at times these small annoying things would make me put the book down because it was draining me.
The last 30 pages of the book I found it so extra! I personally don't think it was necessary, seemed quite corny and unrealistic and also dragged on. If you want my personal opinion this book for it's type of plot it shouldn't have been made to be over 400 pages, she could have saved time for herself and the reader.
Despite the negative reviews that I found necessary to voice out I did like a lot of it and I would recommend people to read it. Zenia made my blood boil. LOL
