The novel features a bizarre murder at an elegant hotel in the Romanian mountains and challenges KGB agent Polina Tolkunova to find the killer among the hotel's mysterious guests before another murder happens. Set during the Cold War in Romania, the novel is the first in a series of murder mysteries by screenwriter Simon King.
