The Safety Net

This short book manages to cover a lot of ground. A collection of suggestions for addressing poverty in the United States, each idea is presented in a concise, easy-to-read, no-nonsense manner. The focus is on providing a potential solution, so very little time is spent describing, discussing or analyzing the problems.

Each chapter focuses on a different idea and those ideas include a Guaranteed Work Program (GWP), Targeted Community Centers, modification to the educational system, aggressive small business development and a new way of approaching home economics.
