Cameron Hayes is one of the most respected editors-in-chief at WWF Magazine. Ambitious, brilliant, and fiercely determined, he has his sights set on becoming the foundation's next director. There is only one obstacle standing in his way: a Ph.D. in ecology.

Returning to university should be nothing more than another challenge for Cameron to conquer.

Then there's Ella Lattone.

After three years as a translator for WWF Magazine, Ella leaves her life in the Romance languages behind to pursue her newfound passion for ecology. Her family may have objected to her choices, but Ella has never been particularly good at obeying rules.

Unfortunately, her new academic path puts her directly in Cameron's orbit.

Now, the two are forced to work together on a research project involving volcanic ecosystems, even though everyone who knows them remembers exactly how disastrous they were together at WWF Magazine.
