The Scriptures and the World

"We profit from the Word when our eyes are opened to discern the true character of the world...It is much to be thankful for when the soul is able to see that the world is a gigantic fraud, a hollow bauble, a vile thing, which must one day be burned up." The world is an enemy we are to resist and overcome. Christ died to deliver us from the world. We are called to "love not the world" but instead to separate from it. The world will hate God's people, but they can live above it.
