Better than expected
After a slightly awkward start, this turns into one of the best of the lesser-known Christie novels. The detective is nominally Detective Battle, but his role is peripheral as the mystery ends up solving itself in a most unexpected way. Great characters and a good deal of international intrigue. Seems to be set around 1930.
