The Senator's Ultimatum

When a speech goes wrong Maree has to face one angry Senator. Will she be fired or does she deliver an apology the senator will never forget?

After awhile, Douglas, the Senator’s right hand man left the office. Upon seeing Maree he said: “Well I guess you knew you’d be called here. Good luck.”

With some trepidation, Maree knocked and entered the senator’s office.


“Senator, I’m so sorry.” she started, actually feeling sorry for the mistake that wasn’t actually her fault.”


“Save it!” snapped the Senator. “Do you know how important that speech was? My first speech highlighting the incompetence of our rival, a speech to rally the troops and let them know that we are in control, and, and this total f*** up happens!” Senator Davis spluttered.


Maree noticed that his usual dazzling blue eyes were shining with anger; a rage seemed to course through his body.


“Senator it was a blown fuse, we don’t control the damn power grid!” Maree explained.


“No but I get to control what and who continues on around here.” the Senator retorted.


“Senator, what are you saying?” Maree asked.


“Maybe you should pack your bags.” he replied.


“For a blown fuse that wasn’t my fault?” Maree said incredulously. 


“What would you suggest would make this disaster ok again?” the Senator questioned.


“I’m not sure, but I can only add that I love this job and would do anything to keep it.” Maree replied.


“Really.” the senator answered sarcastically.


“Really.” Maree said firmly.


“Fine.” the Senator said, then with surprising speed stepped forward and his two hands ripped off Maree’s shirt.


“Senator!” Maree cried. “What are you doing?”


“I’m sick of hearing how all you people would do anything to keep you jobs when you don’t really mean it. So now’s your chance to prove it!” the senator said.


Before Maree realized what was happening, the senator spun her around and pulled her shirt down over her shoulders and arms, grabbed her bra with both hands and ripped that off as well.
