Beyond 5 stars. The story starts off with the earl being soo happy that his wife gave him a heir. One stormy night he wakes up and sees her on the cliffs by the edge . Next thing he knows she jumps from the cliff. He slowly drinks himself to death. 200 yrs later the earl is slowly putting the castle back to rights and an American comes to the castle to check on the history for the theses. They slowly fall in love . They also see ghosts. And things that are not explained. There is a dark force in the castle because there is a presence of a witch with her energy surroundingit. The reason is that the body was buried in the flower garden. The ghosts of the earl and the wife are trying to help the present day couple. Buy the story to see if the present day couple get together and if they break the curse. I won't spoil the book to tell you everything. You won't be able to put it down
