Publisher Description
The must-read analysis of the key insights from "The Sleep Revolution" by Arianna Huffington — presented by Athena.
The impact of sleep deprivation is real — and it’s compromising our health, cognitive function and work productivity.
Arianna Huffington is best known as a media and business mogul. She’s the founder of The Huffington Post, which she sold to AOL in 2011 for $315 million, and three years later, she was named to Forbes’ list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World. In 2016, she founded Thrive Global, a technology company that aims to help people battling stress and burnout.
An accomplished author, Huffington has also written 15 books, and her latest, "The Sleep Revolution," addresses what she sees as contemporary culture’s pervasive “sleep-deprivation crisis.”
Her objective is to redefine and renew the reader’s relationship with sleep — as a key to a happier, healthier and more productive waking life. Rooted in plenty of scientific research, the book also includes candid insights from Huffington’s own years of sleep deprivation. In 2007, for example, she suffered an exhaustion-induced collapse that ultimately caused her to significantly change her sleeping habits. In the years since, she’s become a self-described “sleep evangelist.” Sleep, she writes, “is a fundamental human need that must be respected.”
