The Smile

A glimmer of hope takes Alan on a voyage across the sprawling Megalopolis in search of a hope, a memory—a faint recollection of a smile that seems so long ago.

The city feels like it’s closing in around him. Always, Alan carries an uncomfortable sense of foreboding and an awareness of a fearful presence. It’s possible he is being deceived on his journey, and the darkness and uncertainty hang over him like a storm cloud.

In between moments of shadows and light, Alan becomes increasingly aware that his mind is not playing tricks. There is indeed a faceless entity watching him, following him like a shadow. Every single step is scrutinized, but the questions remain: who is watching and why?
