DURING LEANER TIMES, the love seat was a valued piece of furniture, but when I purchased the leather couch and chair, it looked out of place and I gave it to my youngest daughter. When she married, there was no room for it in her small house, and she gave it back. I put it in the spare bedroom, but when I began acquiring grandchildren, I added a second bed and the green love seat was squeezed out. Rather than toss it, I decided it would look good in my elevated deer stand. "You don't have an elevated deer stand," my friend Mike said when I told him of my plans. "All you've got is that pile of brush down by the creek."
