Overview and Rationale This clinical practice guideline was approved by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) on September 24, 2010. It is based on a systematic review of published studies on the treatment of symptomatic osteoporotic spinal compression fractures in adults (aged [greater than or equal to] 18 years). In addition to providing practice recommendations, this guideline highlights gaps in the literature and areas that require future research.
