The Ultimate Ghostwriter

Stephanie Rawlings finds herself floating from one uninspiring job to another after her childhood dreams that led her to college just did not pan out. But her life turns her on her head when she mails off a story she wrote on a whim from a dream while backpacking to an old college chum who had gone into the publishing business. The firm had just launched an initiative to search out unknown but talented writers and to her utter amazement and surprise, Stephanie becomes part of the new venture.
But her initial success in her new career is unexpectedly upended when she encounters the dreaded phenomenon known to all authors as writers’ block. By mere chance and from her growing panic and frustration, Stephanie enters into an odd arrangement with an old woman who promises her that she can solve her predicament. Stephanie does not give it much thought but when she sits down to work the net morning there is a large volume of text on her laptop that is just the thing to get her out of her rut. Working with what she comes to call her “ultimate ghostwriter” Stephanie breaks out of her dry spell and all is well again.
But it does not last forever as everyday things in her life begin to deteriorate drastically and Stephanie begins to wonder just what kind of a deal she might have struck with her benefactor.
