Introduction World Health Organisation's (WHO) launched a Family Health Nurse project in its 13 member countries in Europe in 2001. One purpose of the project was to educate nurses for family health nursing, so that they could better promote family health, and, in the early stage, also intervene in cases of health risks to individual people, families and communities. The objective of the education was to support family-centred nursing care (1). In Finland, the continuing education of family health nursing was organised at two Universities of Applied Sciences.
