The main heroes of the novel were Englishmen who travelled to the South America. There were a lot of reasons of their trip: somebody aimed at the entertainment, somebody wanted to create a business in a new land. The prototype of this novel was Virginia Woolf herself. Rachel Vinrace who was the main faced to many different heroes: political, scientists, writers. She found life, she experienced the new feeling of love, she met her real love and became to understand what aspects of love were valuable and what points were not important…
