Publisher Description
Every harvest moon, the Witch Collector rides into our valley and leads one of us to the home of the immortal Frost King, to remain forever. Today is that day—Collecting Day.
But he will not come for me. I, Raina Bloodgood, have lived in this village for twenty-four years, and for all that time he has passed me by.
His mistake.
Raina Bloodgood has one desire: kill the Frost King and the Witch Collector who stole her sister. On Collecting Day, she means to exact murderous revenge, but a more sinister threat sets fire to her world. Rising from the ashes is the Collector, Alexus Thibault, the man she vowed to slay and the only person who can help save her sister.
Thrust into an age-old story of ice, fire, and ancient gods, Raina must abandon vengeance and aid the Witch Collector or let their empire—and her sister—fall into enemy hands. But the lines between good and evil blur, and Raina has more to lose than she imagined. What is she to do when the Witch Collector is no longer the villain who stole her sister, but the hero who's stealing her heart?
The Witch Collector is book one in a thrilling romantic fantasy series, perfect for fans of Naomi Novik, Sarah J. Maas, and Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Great book
Wow. The twists and turns in this book have kept me in suspense. Next thing I know I’m done the first chapter and am suddenly finished the book. I’m so glad that there’s more books to engulf myself with. I love that Raina uses a form of sign language to communicate and her companions are unlikely allies.
Thank you to the author that didn’t give up writing this story
The Witch Collector
I loved the main characters and their journey, their chemistry, and the concept of magic in this universe.
I have some criticisms. Without giving away any plot information, I was struggling to follow the author’s vision of the universe as a whole and the characters outside of the main story. Unfortunately, it took me completely out of the experience at times. I’m invested in the series and looking forward to the next book. I imagine these abstract characters will be more tangibly intertwined with the main characters’ journey and storyline going forward.
Exciting beginning to epic fantasy story
This is a terrific book that follows Raina Bloodgood who starts this tale as a rather naive young woman who hates The Witch Collector who comes to her village every year to take away anyone who shows signs of being a witch. She never thinks beyond her family and village and her consuming hatred for the man who took her sister. In going to try to kill the collector and his king she begins a journey that thrusts her into a world of politics, gods and more magic than she has ever seen before.
I have read a lot of epic fantasy series like this and this book stands up to the best of them. I absolutely adored it and it’s main character Raina. As a woman who likes fantasy it is so great to see more and more strong female (or other non cis male) lead characters. Having read so many fantasy stories that star men and seem to be written for men I love this trend.
This is the first of a trilogy but does not end on a huge cliffhanger.but there are people in peril at that point in the story. Sorry but I’m trying hard not to give things away. There are definite hints about some of what there is to come and all I can say is I can’t wait. This book is epic in all the ways that it can be and I recommend it highly. I wish I had an extra star button that I could push to give it more than five.
