THEIR REIGN is the third and final instalment in the contemporary, adult THE RITE dark, erotic, crime world, romance trilogy co-authored by A Zavarelli and Natasha Knight, set in the authors’ Sovereign Sons world. This is attorney Lawson ‘Judge’ Montgomery, and twenty-five year old Mercedes De La Rosa’s story line. Judge and Mercedes were first introduced in The Society Trilogy. THEIR REIGN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book two HER REBELLION.

SOME BACKGROUND: In the wake of a murder committed by our story line heroine, Mercedes De La Rosa becomes a virtual prisoner of Lawson ‘Judge’ Montgomery but finds herself the target of a vindictive housekeeper, an angry brother, and a ghost from the past that refuses to stay hidden. As Mercedes life continues to spiral out of control, Judge struggles to remain dispassionate, taking from Mercedes what she can never get back but someone is targeting our story line heroine, and Judge is about to pay the price for her sins.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Judge and Mercedes) THEIR REIGN picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of book two in which Mercedes finds herself the victim of a kidnapping, in the wake of the discovery of her pregnancy news. Judge, struggling to accept all that has happened, battles between head and heart for the woman with whom he is falling in love but all is not well in the world of The Society, and having paid the price for Mercedes’ sins, Judge is unwilling to accept their lives going forward. As Mercedes prepares for life on her own, Judge isn’t willing to stand by and watch his family disappear from his life.

The relationship between Judge and Mercedes continues to be angry and unconventional. Judge doesn’t believe in happily ever afters leaving Mercedes nothing more than a stain in the eyes of The Society. With the reality of what was and what may never be, Judge must learn to accept the woman with whom he is falling in love or lose her forever to someone else. The $ex scenes are aggressive, spirited and intense.

All of the secondary and supporting characters return: Mercedes’ brother Santiago and his wife Ivy, Judge’s housekeeper Lois, his brother Theron, their mother, as well as Mercedes’ friends Georgie Beaumont and Solana as well as Councilor Hildebrand, Judge’s head of security Raul.

THEIR REIGN is another story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, struggle and acceptance, forgiveness and love. The premise is edgy and dramatic; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.
