Publisher Description
Comical, insightful, disturbing, self-critical, oh-so-modern, “Wow! I thought only I felt that way!” Jarring, exciting, uplifting ... is Charles Ingram misguided, unstable, or inspired?
Fifteen-year-old Charles Ingram is on the run from the FBI. Traveling from New York State to Boston and then on to Vermont, Charles is determined to hide out as long as possible in a lakeside cabin, a pricey vacation getaway owned and neglected by his equally workaholic parents’ friends. Aware that he will be captured, he decides to write his story and explain why he and his gang committed their crimes. No longer a gamer, bully, or highly medicated and spoiled teen, he’s convinced the “System” has brainwashed people and turned them into digital pawns.
Ten minutes with these beauties and I could free a million souls, even if their preference was to live as slaves. I hoisted the cutters and brought the handles together. The glittering blades clacked noisily as I approached a cable as thick as my arm. I held the metal close. The System was practically shrieking …
Fast-paced and thrilling, Third Brick from the Right is a profound and hilarious send-up of life in the digital age.

Customer Reviews
Funny and insightful, jarring and eloquent.
Funny and insightful, jarring and eloquent. This coming of age story is a brilliant, fictional examination of the epidemic of pain- numbing drugs on this generation's teenagers.
It's also much more than that; it's a wake-up call to show us how social media and ever-present gadgetry in our daily lives has alienated us from both our emotions and authentic relationships with each other.
Amazing read for teens and parents
As a high school teacher, parent and avid fiction reader, I highly recommend this book.
It is ideal for an independent study book choice as it will provoke intellectual discussion on topics relevant to today's teens like bullying, medications prescribed for behavioural issues and the psychological implications of technology addiction on young minds. I also reflected on my own teaching and parenting while reading the book in new ways. The author has a knack for layered writing that takes the reader on an entertaining ride while addressing uncomfortable modern and universal truths that elevates it to must read.
Loved it!
I absolutely loved this book!! It’s a quick, fun read, and a real page turner. Third Brick From the Right is very thought provoking, modern and highly relatable for any young person. The novel raises important questions such as: what does it mean to to be human? What is true happiness? How can one live their life in a purposeful manner? This book will leave you wanting to unplug and spend less time seeing the world through a screen, and more time truly living.
