When the sisters' truck breaks down near a town called Cash Creek, they encounter Brian and Gavin Luxton, sadistic scions of a local ranching family, who rape and torture them for five days until the girls escape. Eighteen years later, the Campbells live under different names in Vancouver, but the past still haunts them. Stevens skillfully builds suspense, but often draws characters with broad strokes, sacrificing depth for pacing, and a few niggling details (such as the timing of Brian's marriage) remain unexplained. My favourite
This is my favourite Chevy Stevens book I’ve read so far. The entire story kept me captivated and focused, wanting to read more. Highly recommend this read!

This probably my favourite book by Chevy Stevens but it's hard to pick one when all of them are so good! I stayed up too late reading, read in the morning and was late for work and found myself thinking about the characters throughout the day. There were tears... seriously! This lady is seriously talented!
Any time someone asks if I know of a good book, I smile and ask if they like psychological thrillers, if they do I go on and on!
