A Tiger’s Tale of a Born Loser is one man’s chronicle of live lived by what has been called "The Greatest Generation." Raised by his dad during the depression, Spencer endured many hardships early on, losing his mother to the 1918 flu epidemic, having jobs while still a small child, and experiencing all the typical boyhood rites of passage. He and his family made it through the lean years, often through the creative endeavors of Spencer himself; from newspaper routes to selling popcorn balls at the Boy Scout Jamboree to golf caddying, bills were paid and food was on the table. But more than just learning to pay bills, this upbringing prepared him for the reality of World War II and life as a tank driver in the 10th Armored Division fighting his way through the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he returned home and set up his own business. Literally a jack-of-all-trades, Spencer has had many successes from his hard work.
