For the past three years, orphaned Scottish heiress Eleanor Craig has lived with her uncle's widow in London, where she's expected to hide her interests in current events and horses and behave like a proper lady, especially once she gets engaged to Michael, the Earl of Herridge, and finds herself thrust into society's spotlight. While visiting her family's home in Scotland, Eleanor meets Logan McKnight, a member of parliament, as he's wandering his family's nearby estate. Logan is instantly attracted to Eleanor's spark but also senses her loneliness, leading him to give her a puppy named Bruce. Both back in London, Logan is disappointed to learn that Eleanor's engaged to his political rival. But as Logan and Eleanor continue to meet under the guise of dog training, Eleanor wonders if she's promised her heart to the wrong man. The slow build of trust between Eleanor and Logan is believable and sweet, and Bruce steals every scene he's in. Readers will be sad to see this sparkling series end.

Intriguing Friends to Lovers story

To Bed the Bride is the third book in Karen Ranney’s delightful All For Love series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend the other books in the series, To Love a Duchess and To Wed an Heiress. Before he died leaving her in the care of his brother Eleanor Craig’s father impressed upon her two things, first that family is everything and that she was to care for the family estate Hearthmere which has been the Craig family home for more than four hundred years. The death of her Uncle has lead Eleanor and her Aunt and cousins to move to London and her trips to Hearthmere are becoming rare especially now that she has become engaged to the Earl of Wescott. She meets Logan McKnight while out on a ride and thinks he is a shepherd and a quite annoying one at that especially when he gives her a puppy which she is sure is the last thing she wants or needs. Once back in London they meet again and she discovers that Logan is an up and coming member of parliament when he attends a dinner party at the home of her Aunt’s new husband a wealthy businessman. As Eleanor begins to learn that her Aunt doesn’t have the same feelings about family and that her fiancé is not who she thought he was Logan becomes a true friend when she desperately needs one. An intriguing friends to lovers story with some truly nasty villains I enjoyed reading this book immensely. Medium Steam.
