Tom Longboat

This biography of Tom Longboat is a high-interest, low-vocabulary book for adolescents and adults with limited literacy skills.Tom Longboat (1887-1949) of the Onondaga First Nation was raised in a log cabin on the Six Nations reserve. As a child, Longboat discovered a love for running and in 1907, he entered the most famous race in the world, The Boston Marathon, and set a new record. He became an army runner in World War I.
