Too Close for Comfort

Maggie Hendrix loves her life. She has a great job as a paralegal, and a sister who always has her back.

While taking care of her niece and nephew for the summer while her sister focuses on presiding over an important federal court case, Maggie is re-acquainted with her neighbor, Gabriel Remington.

Er. Well. Sorta.

He's taken over his grandmother's old house during the pandemic--but rarely does she see him. Having only known him as a kid on and off through the years, all grown up, he's bit standoffish. But whatever. Maggie's perfectly okay with having a simple, uncomplicated life--but Gabe is far from uncomplicated as he suddenly starts appearing in her life.

Despite her reservations, she allows it since her nephew takes to her new neighbor. But the more Gabe is around, the more complex things get between them. While she wants to trust him, she discovers that her neighbor's sudden neighborly appearance is no mere accident.

The one thing that Maggie has learned from past relationships that have left her hurting bad is that repeating past mistakes will get her burned. And she has no intention of creating new scars.
