Trailwood Elementary School: Igniting a Spark for Learning

As Trailwood first implemented a 1:1 digital learning initiative, teachers worked to follow and encourage a “Yes, And” philosophy. This mindset helped students and staff to try new opportunities and build upon experiences. As they have integrated technology in all classrooms and moved into a new building, the power of “Yes, And” has expanded. Now, students and staff work together to make sure their environment is a place where everyone can be excited to go to school everyday, Principal Greg Lawrence said. They want to ignite a spark of excitement for learning that will endure well beyond the elementary school experience. “We want the learning experience to be more engaging, more powerful so students are more enthusiastic about learning,” Lawrence said. “We transform the school experience for students by making it engaging and opening up new possibilities.”
