Trend Report 2007 (NOTES AND ISSUES‪)‬

Each quarter, the Appraisal Institute's Lum Library issues its Trend Report for appraisal literature. (1) The Trend Report presents a quantitative and qualitative look at trends affecting the real estate appraisal industry by examining the topics of recent real estate articles. To prepare the Trend Report, the Lure Library staff researches recent real estate literature using the FirstSearch database. Then, the research results are compared to past results. Any increase or decrease of interest in the subject areas is tracked, and the findings of the research are tabulated in the Trend Report. Each subject area also has a chart showing the number of articles published within the past five years and a bibliography of the most recent year's articles. The charts clearly illustrate decreasing interest in some issues, such as trends in urban markets, and increasing interest in other topics, such as sustainability.
