A sweet and tender romance, returning to Dragonfly Lake - a singer hiding from the world
Amy Knupp - an author I've had on my radar for so long but have only just begun reading. I have no idea why I waited for so long because she is absolutely incredible! So very talented and her stories are just brilliant!
I started here with the Henry Brothers series, UnTold, UnRavelled and now UnSung. These boys and the town of Dragonfly Lake? Everything is laid out and stories are told in such a way that I completely get immersed and feel like I'm living it, not reading (or in this case, listening to) it. I felt like I was right there with Everly Ash when she ran from her wedding before she made the biggest mistake of her life and married Trey, and stayed the Sweetheart of Country Music and the power couple they were. I was by Seth Henry's side when he was looking at the news and came across an article about the runaway country star bride from Nashville whole looked suspiciously like the new tenant who showed up at his rental property at midnight...
The sweet and tender romance between Everly and Seth as they have a secret relationship - while she hides away from the world in Dragonfly Lake - is just that. Sweet and Tender. Knupp knows how to write a situation exactly right for the plot and use the perfect amount of emotion and steam for the couple she's focused on, bring in the perfect amount of side-characters (from previous books), and all of the banter and wrap it all up in the perfect length of a storyline to give us just exactly what we all need. Just exact perfection! No huge melodrama, no massive cryfest, and no ridiculous fights that are out of place. Pure bliss.
I completely and totally recommend this book and the rest of the series to all, but you're going to want/need to get it on audio! This is narrated by Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez. If you haven't listened to them or been fans of them before (which I definitely have been for a while), you will be after this book! They did a brilliant job and they also deserve 5-stars each, like Knupp deserves for the writing!
I now cannot wait to pick up UnDone and UnExpected and find out what happens with the next Henry brothers!
