Dr. Stand arrived with the Alliance to the Rocky Mountian Base years ago. Since then he has concentrated on helping the humans survive and advance in their Drako occupied world. Tamsin Phaebos is newly liberated from a Drako stronghold. Her and her sisters. She has a very reasonable and extensive fear of men. All of them but the stubborn, blond haired doctor who sits by her bed and reads to her. 

While Stand helps Tamsin heal from her trauma and learn how to navigate her new world, their friendship grows into something more. Their path leads them to some surprising places where they find that their family is bigger than they thought.
