Description de l’éditeur

Before using formulas or academic vocabulary, showing students visuals to explore mathematical ideas can help facilitate discourse and understanding of broader relationships and truths. The use of multiple representations in students’ learning of mathematics can help give students ownership rather than teachers simply showing and telling them.

Using Keynote, we can spark curiosity and understanding in our students without saying a word! In this eBook, explore the WHY and the HOW of using Keynote (For Math) through research, tutorials, and inspiring, dynamic examples.

Fantastic!

Really great ideas!

Your students will thank you.

We trust and believe what we can see. Learning math in school has traditionally not been a visually rich subject. It’s possible this lack of “seeing” is a contributing factor to our populations distrust of mathematical learning.
Cathy Yenca’s beautifully crafted multi-touch book not only shows you why math teachers should use visuals to help student learn and see math but she walks you through how. I’ll be using Keynote To Explore Math Relationships Visually in my teaching this year.

The “KEY” to Visualizing Mathematics!!

Cathy Yenca is one of few math teachers who have pioneered the use of Apple Keynote as a tool to help students understand a very visual subject that is often taught using only symbols. Now, you can follow Cathy step-by-step through the process of making your first Keynote file to utilizing one of my favourite features, Magic Move, to animate mathematical relationships in ways you’ve never experienced with your own two eyes!!

Thanks for sharing your expertise with us, Cathy! This multi-touch book is a must read!
