The plaintiffs, Anthony J. Valentine, Michael J. Valentine and Joseph R. Valentine, are co-partners d/b/a under the firm name of Capital Decorating Company (hereinafter referred to as Capital) having their office in the city of Madison and engaged in the painting business. The defendant Patrick Warren Construction Company (hereinafter referred to as Warren) is an Illinois corporation, and in 1946 had a contract as general contractor for the construction of an office and assembly building for the Ford Motor Car Company (hereinafter referred to as Ford) at Robertson, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
