Volume 17 - ATPL Flight Navigation General - May 2023

This manual is written to provide the knowledge required by candidates for the New
Zealand Airline Transport Pilot Licence in Flight Navigation General (Aeroplane and
Helicopter), AC61.7 syllabus number 38. This syllabus is primarily based on regional/
oceanic/global IFR navigation, as applicable to navigating a multi-engined turbine air
transport type aeroplane or IFR capable turbine engined helicopter. The CAA syllabus, our
textbook and the ASPEQ examination content presupposes a knowledge and
understanding already attained at PPL/CPL/IR levels.
