Wanderers, Dreamers, and You
A Visual Record of My Year in U.S.
Publisher Description
This is my first iBook publication. The book is divided into four chapters.
1. Wanderlust. To me, photography is my way of remembrance. In the past year, I have wandered through the continental U.S., and here, I want to share with you some of the most bizarre and intriguing scenes I’ve seen. Wanderers, enjoy!
2. Common Ground. Coming from a Chinese background, I’m interested in the way that the Chinese culture and the way that Chinatowns have evolved in different settlements. The U.S. is a common ground for the dreamers, but how are they living their dreams?
3. A Facebook. These are the strangers that I encountered on the street. Some I’ve never had any interaction before or after taking the photograph. Some I approached them for a portrait to be taken. Some I found interesting, and some who found me interesting.
4. Damp Diary Pages. This section is partly inspired by Stephen Shore’s A New York Minute. Also, I love Jonas Mekas’s diary films, which he approached so lovingly and intimately. So, I recorded these moments in an attempt to document some of the experiences that I had.
Thank you for supporting my work!
