On a warm Sunday morning in a peaceful village on the north-east coast of Scotland, the mutilated body of a young girl is discovered. Local police officers are quickly on the scene, led by Detective Inspector David Gordon. A major investigation is launched but progress is slow and the team are no nearer to apprehending the killer when a second body is discovered in similar circumstances a little further along the coast. There appears to be a pattern and the two cases are immediately linked as DI Gordon follows what few leads are available from the minimal clues left for him. Everyone connected to the case believes the killer will never stop unless they catch him but how can they with so little evidence to work on?
