Notting Hill meets Pretty Woman…
As a bartender at Miami’s hottest club, Carlos Acosta sees his share of beautiful women and celebrities. He’s a regular guy, busy working two jobs and getting his graduate degree, until pop sensation Dakota Starr singles him out for a hot dance and an even sexier night together. Their chemistry is explosive until she makes him a financial offer he can’t refuse.
Hannah Hogarth shed her country-girl roots to make it in Hollywood as pop star Dakota Starr. She’s got the hit record, minor movie roles, and even the celebrity scandal. Her fiancé publicly dumped her one week before their wedding. Dakota’s not one to lick her wounds privately, so she jets off to Miami determined to show the world she’s not broken.
What better way to prove she’s over her fiancé than to engage in a very public torrid affair with sexy Miami local, Carlos? One secret: she’s paying him. Carlos agrees to act as her lover in public, but in private, he’s warned her it’s strictly business. The only problem? They can’t keep their hands off each other.
Customer Reviews
This is a quick, romantic, steamy read!
Hannah wanted to get out of her little hick town and be a star ... so she moved to LA, changed her name to Dakota Starr and became a pop princess singing other people's songs. When her fiancé drops her a week before their wedding, she flies to Miami to drown her heartache. That's where she meets Carlos ... who is a bartender, a fishing guide and a student. After a passionate night together, she propositions him to be her fake boyfriend for a week, so the world can see that her fiancé didn't break her heart, and she will pay him 4 grand. He needs the money, so he agrees under the condition that they don't have sex while she's paying him.
The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it wasn't long enough! Carlos and Hannah had lots of sparks flying between them and their chemistry was undeniable. This was a quick, romantic, steamy read.
I graciously received an ARC copy courtesy of the author in exchange for a honest review.
