Where the Demon Spies

James Alexander Lindkin dreamed of fantasy worlds and legends until he learned they are all true and the supernatural world is full of dangers.

James tries to be an ordinary fifteen-year-old boy. He tries to be the perfect son his parents want. But James cannot be a perfect student with a promising career, wife and kids ahead of him. James has a bad habit of unexplained teleportation that draws attention to him and draws his mother’s ire.

For she knows that James Lindkin is part Gongore, a race of powerful magic users and defenders of an ordered Universe. Moreover, James may just be the Saviour, the figure of a century-old prophecy, destined to defeat the forces who wish to bring back the dark days of destruction.

It is not just his magic that James is keeping from those around him. As James emerges himself in his training and studies of the supernatural world, he wrestles with his feelings for the apprentice battle commander. James cannot tell his parents or his girlfriend, Celine, that what would make him truly happy is to be who he is and love who he loves. For James must be the perfect son and perfect Saviour.

As James’s personal life spirals out of control, his fractured enemies draw together. In his Earthbound life, James is tormented by his eccentric teacher, Mrs. Saffleberg. Elsewhere and unknown to James, the wizard Wentworth is desperately searching for the boy of the prophecy. If James has any hope of defeating his enemies, he will first have to put himself together.

Where the Demon Spies is the first book in The Divine Weapons series.
