Whistling Runes

An envelope without a return address arrives for Peter Rogers, the recreation director at Whistling Pines Senior Residence. The Viking runes on the enclosed photograph are unlike anything Peter had ever seen. Tapping into the reservoir of knowledge among the senior residents provides conflicting interpretations of the runic message, so Peter turns to an expert at the nearby Norwegian Lutheran Church. The mystery unfolds once the runic message is deciphered, creating community excitement over the historic discovery showing that Vikings arrived in Two Harbors long before 1492, and leading to a re-enactment of the Viking arrival.
