Who got the Chickens‪?‬

Mr McNeil’s chickens were fast asleep in their coop when some foxes decided to dig a hole under the fence and take them all…all but one! Lucky the chicken then tries to find her flock by asking the other farm animals, including some of the native animals that live on the farm. 


In 2015, the Feral Animals Enviro-Stories program provided kids from central New South Wales, Australia, with the opportunity to write and illustrate stories about feral animals and their impacts on both biodiversity and agriculture. Schools were supported by technical staff from local organisations to help them learn about their feral animals. This project has resulted in ten books being published, printed and distributed as well as interactive books developed. This book was prepared by students from Wellington Public School with support from Central West Local Land Services and Invasive Animals CRC.
