Wings

This story tells about the future of the United States with an extrapolation of the policies of the Trump era where wealth is concentrated in a shrinking upper class. It also looks at the consequences of the automobile age where communities are dispersed and fragmented and social bonds are diminished. It explains that the rich depend on services from an underclass. People with good intentions and even a church life still enjoy the benefits of a system which cruelly exploits people without privilege. One third of Americans do not drive which limits their employment and life prospects.

In this imagined future, the winners of class war will fly everywhere which further degrades the quality of life of average people. The hyper-individualism of American life will lead to a reduction in health care and education if present trends continue.
