The men have come to buy Delores Harper's dream. Actually, the diner was a dream she shared with her late husband. Since his passing almost a decade ago, the dream has lost its rosier qualities. However, one of these men desires more than a restaurant along a lonesome stretch of Oklahoma highway. He wants a keepsake Delores inherited from her grandmother.

The wishing stone is just a necklace with a story attached, not a real thing. Delores knows magic isn't real. However, the sinister man called Mabius Morrell believes differently. If he cannot buy the keepsake, then perhaps he will resort to far less civil methods ...

However, as alone and small as she feels, Delores has someone on her side. Bull is a regular, and he's also someone who's ready to back her play. And maybe invite her to dance when they triumph.

Wish I May is the first installment of an epic romantasy quartet of linked short novels. Although this initial entry is rooted firmly in the world of 1940s Oklahoma, it sets the stage for an adventure that will spill into fantasy realms and pit Delores Harper and her beau against world shaking events and darkly magical adversaries.
