Theodore Lyman (1833 - 1897) , born in Waltham, MA, was a scientist, staff officer in the Civil War, and a Representative in Congress.  A graduate of Harvard, Lyman returned from Europe in the spring of 1863 to serve General George Meade, which he did until the conclusion of the war.

With Grant and Meade from the Wilderness to Appomattox is the collection of letters Lyman wrote while serving during the Civil War. Illustrations of the battles, generals, and more are included.  A table of contents is included for easier navigation.
