Wizard

Laurence M. Janifer (Mar 17, 1933 - Jul 10, 2002) was an American writer, known for authorship of science fiction. His writing career lasted over 50 years and during that he used a great number of pennames. Janifer was an editor for Scott Meredith Literary Agency in addition to writing. The most notable Janifer’s work is the Survivor series of collections of short stories that follows Gerald Knave on his journey to outer worlds. Also Janifer was a gifted piano player.

Wizard is a science fiction short story by Laurence M. Janifer, written under penname of Larry M. Harris. The story follows Owen, a clergy man, who has heard some stories of missionaries about one African tribe. This was a violent and ignorant tribe that lacked of true faith.
