Disappointing
This was a lacklustre end to a very enjoyable series of books. While I dearly appreciated a number of things the narrative tries to accomplish, it succeeds in none. Especially as a portrayal of characters dealing with post traumatic stress disorder.
The pacing of the book feels very rushed as well and the general characterization that had been beautifully developed in the previous books was completely derailed.
I don't regret purchasing this novel, in fact I am happy to give anything to an author I respect as much as Sherwood Smith!, but I do feel that this book needed more time to be written and plotted then it was given.
