Xieng Khuan

“Xieng Khan (Spirit City), 25 kilometers from Vientiane, Laos, next to the Thai-Lao border, on the banks of the Mekong. The park integrates Hinduism and Buddhism with more than 200 Hindu and Buddhist statues. Giant fantastic sculptures of Humans, Gods, Animals, Demons and an enormous 120 meters long reclining Buddha. There are made of concrete but no doubt, they are still alive. Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, a thai-lao mystic is the creator of Xieng Khuan that faces Sala Keoku, the other park created by the artist, on the thai side, near Nong-Khai. It is a travel in the karmic wheel of life. You can enter in the darkness of a sphere through the 3 meter tall mouth of a demon head and now cross the three levels : Hell, Earth and Heaven.”
