When Clint rides into Columbia, Colorado—one day to be known as Telluride—he is responding to a call for help from his friend, gold miner Benny Diamond. But upon his arrival, he finds that Benny is missing, and there are very few people in town willing to help find him. But one who does want to aid him is young Robert Leroy Parker, who is only just coming to the time in his life where he wants to be known as Butch Cassidy. Clint and Butch end up in a deadly face-off with Big Jack Hunter, a miner who has all of the other miners behind him.
