Iris Mills should have been divinely happy.  She had met the handsome, wealthy man of her dreams, and he had asked her to marry him.  But from the moment Iris entered the old chapel where the wedding would take place, her fears mounted.

Why did dust and cobwebs cover this so-called holy place?  Why was the minister so furtive?  Why were the guests so hideously disfigured?  Why did the bridegroom himself behave so strangely?

And Iris was possessed - not by joy but horror - as she realized the satanic evil about to embrace her....
