The Chain

After surviving an attempt on his life, ex-SAS man David Hawkins is working at a bar in a remote corner of Venezuela. He's about as far off the grid as it's possible to get in the age of facial recognition.

But no one can escape their past forever. And when an old friend comes looking for him, Hawkins is given a hard choice: complete a one-off job, or his enemies at Six will be alerted to his whereabouts.

The mission: take a shot at the President of the United States, a former war hero seeking a third term in office. To do that he needs a sniper. Someone skilled enough to make a shot that will narrowly miss.

Hawkins seems like the perfect man for the job. But soon he discovers that he isn't the only one targeting the President. And when the op goes badly wrong, Hawkins is forced to go on the run.

Hunted on all sides, Hawkins now faces a frantic race against time to expose the truth - and prevent a terrifying megalomaniac from plunging the West into chaos...
